Love Given Love Received
Talking to a friend this morning brought about this post. In my pursuit of a relationship with God, I am discovering that how I relate to people has so much to do with how I relate to Him. When I do my best to love the people in my life, I find it easier to receive the love of God. When I close myself off from the world and live in fear, I have such a hard time relating to God. I’m starting to understand things like “if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift” Matthew 5:23-24. I don’t want to say God calls me His friend and have no friends on this earth. The truth is you and I need friends and we need to be a friend. I want to be a better friend, I want to show the love of God to people, and maybe I’ll understand His love for me even better. It really is better to give than to receive.

Rob, this is the truest thing I know. You’re a wonderful friend. And I love you.
