    Social Injustice…are you serious?

People coming into this country illegally can get a job and raise a family. America is the greatest country on earth and we are also the most generous. So, when people are fleeing our country by the millions to get into Cuba, then I might think social injustice is a comparable argument to the murder of innocent babies. It is absolutely important to help the poor, but you are kidding yourself if you think murdering someone is the same as that person not having a home or job. If you were getting robbed you wouldn’t say “here take my kids, but leave my wallet alone”, but in America 50 million babies proves that we have said exactly that. If we choose a man who thinks that early, late, and partial birth abortion is ok, then we are saying “here take my kids, but leave my wallet alone”. The truth is liberal thinking says “Let’s fight for healthcare for the 40 million people that don’t have it, but let’s ignore the 50 million babies murdered by abortion” How do you fight for healthcare when you don’t even care about the health of a baby in the womb? Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, CNN, Keith Oberman, William Ayers, the hippies who spit on our soldiers when they came home from Vietnam are trying to take our nation from us. No matter what happens on November 4th, don’t ever stay silent, don’t ever give in and keep fighting until the mercy of God gives us our nation back.

AMEN Pastor Rob!!! Daddy and I were just talking about this very same issue 2 nights ago. Speak the truth and pray for our country and the people in our country that would even consider voting for someone that encourages and approves murder of the most innocent! What could be more innocent than a baby? Rock On Preacher Man! Luv ya :)

Why Does It Go So Fast?

I turned 30 this year and it wasn’t at all what I thought it was going to be. Honestly… I was afraid. I thought the day after, my back was going to hurt, I would have to get up in the middle of the night 3 times to go to the bathroom, and I would actually have to start paying attention to the commercials about medication. None of that happened. I was actually ok with it and really excited about the next decade of my life. I realized that me getting older is not what I’m afraid of… it is my kids getting older that scares me! Time didn’t start flying for me until I had kids and now I don’t know where the time goes. So, instead of worring about the election and the stock market… you know what… I’m going to spend my time loving and living the life that God has given me with my beautiful wife and family. The pictures are Chloe when she was 1 and Chloe at age 8. Thanks for reading… Robbie

    HE Is Close

Some things you must know about God…so that you can really enjoy your relationship with Him.

    • He is kind. He is slow to anger quick in mercy and in His discipline He is perfect.

Psalm 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

    • The Holy Spirit is not just an experience, the Holy Spirit is God.

John 14:16-18 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

    • His Word is close to us. He is not at a distance.

Deuteronomy 30:11-13 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

Relationship with God is the only thing that will ultimately satisfy you…

A.W. Tozer put it like this: For it is not mere words that nourish the soul, but God Himself, and unless and until the hearers find God in personal experience they are not the better for having heard the truth. The Bible is not an end in itself, but a means to bring men to an intimate and satisfying knowledge of God, that they may enter into Him, that they may delight in his presence, may taste and know the inner sweetness of the very God Himself in the core and center of their hearts.

    This Crazy Election

I want to tell you the most important thing during this election season… Your Relationship With GOD!!! This is a very difficult and confusing time for most Americans, but for the Christian this is your opportunity to really develop a dependency on your God and not your government. I do think it is important that we pray for the election, but don’t lose sight of the fact that God will sustain you as His child… NO Matter who wins.

Psalm 42:1-3 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? My tears have been my food day and night, while men say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

    Transition

September was one of the most exciting months of my life as a pastor. I was able to hand a ministry that my wife and I had labored in for 12 years and do it with joy and confidence. Rick and Beth Keller are now the youth pastors at our local church and I have never been so excited about the future. For over 3 years they have known that they would become the youth pastors and have served this ministry without a title for all 3 of those years. I am so proud of them and believe that the best days of the youth ministry are ahead. God has really blessed Monica and I to have friends and leaders that worked with us and we are thankful for the past 12 years…11 together :)

      Dear Pastor Robbie-
I met you at the IMA National Meeting held at your church in late September. We talked briefly about youth ministry and IMA youth camp. I wanted to let you know that I honor your perspective of true ministry. Someone once told me that a great minister is someone who works himself out of a job. This blog is a testament of just that — a great minister. I wanted to also commend you and your church for the excellence you and your staff exemplified during the conference. It’s good to see that there are still Pastors and churches willing to show forth the excellence of God in all they do. Finally, I just want to say “thanks”. The ‘break-out’ session you did on Youth Ministry was inspiring. As an Assistant and Youth Pastor it’s nice to sit and be refreshed, rather than being the one doing the refreshing! May God bless the next steps in your ministry at Calvary and I am sure that this is not the last time we will share together. ps — your father [Pastor Hilton] wanted me to stay in touch with the church, so if it’s not too much to ask, could you give him my email address. thanks again — Wade
