Seize Divine Moments

August 27, 2008 pastorrobbie Leave a comment

Erwin McManus said – “When you seize divine moments, you instigate an atomic reaction. You become a human catalyst creating a divine impact.”

I have made up my mind…Life, Living is AWESOME! Of course life can be difficult and tradgedy can strike anyone, but why live with those fears. This past year has been the most thought filled year of my life. I have completely changed the way I approach living. This day is all I have, I am not promised tomorrow so why miss out on what is possible today by worrying about tomorrow. Check out this video it is really awesome! Think about it…If you were going to die tomorrow would you care if someone cut you off on the highway, would you fight with you spouse over finances or would you LIVE and appreciate every breath.

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

God Will Make Your Name Great

August 25, 2008 pastorrobbie Leave a comment

Genesis 11 is the story of the Tower of Babel. The problem was not that they desired to make a tall building. Their problem is found at the end of verse 4, “let us make a name for ourselves”. Compare this to Genesis 12:2. Then end of verse 2 says, “I will bless you and make your name great”. We don’t have the right to make our name great, when we humble ourselves and follow God, He delights in making our name great. To many people pursue celebrity instead of God and that is a dangerous thing. The glory of anything we do for God belongs to God. It is important for us to learn this point. Jesus led by example. The Bible tells us that Jesus humbled himself as an example to us.

Philippians 2:5-9 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name;

Jesus was God and had the right to claim His divinity here on earth. But that was not His mission. His mission was to be an example and humble Himself to die for us. Why then do we think we have a right to exalt ourselves when Jesus humbled Himself? God has a plan for each person’s life. The only way you will find the greatness of God is to forsake all and follow God. That requires trust and humility. Abraham trusted God, laid down his reputation and let God build it for him. Some of our “christian celebrities” could learn from the heroes of our faith.

Can’t We Do Both?

August 19, 2008 pastorrobbie Leave a comment

I read this statement the other day, it was a comment posted by someone, they disagreed with a blog posted by Pastor Joel Stockstill.

www.joelstockstill.com – click on the comments to read the statement I am referring to.

“Though I don’t at all want to diminish the horrible tragedy of abortion, I believe it is more Godly to aid a single mother in poverty than it is to shout from the comfort of my living room that she shouldn’t have an abortion.”

This was my response…

Why can’t we do both. Why can’t we stand up and shout abortion is murder and help the single mother. Why do we have to choose? I really understand what you (touray and elizabeth) are saying but I can’t agree. How is it possible to ignore the fact that Obama supports the murder, death, end of a life…and McCain supports the life, birth, beginning of a life. The environment, the economy all of these things are important to me and to you. I just find it impossible to support murder. I know Obama might do more for social injustice, but I can’t excuse murder because the church isn’t responding. I also can’t vote for a man who would have allowed me and you to be killed in the womb of our mother because I was mad at republicans for not doing anything to save the environment. We can do both…and my church and family do both, we minister to the single mom and stand up for the right of unborn children. reducing the number of abortions is not the goal, GOD’S heart breaks every time we destroy a life He created.

I’m not a huge fan of McCain, but I do know death is the end for that baby, so how do we fight for the right of a single mom who by our standards didn’t even have the right to live until she was born. It seems to me if human life were valued, then people would respond to the single mom and help, but the truth is people like to act like they care about single mom’s to find some sort of moral high ground. It is a crazy world that kills babies, but spends billions to stop pollution.

Please God…Heal Tiger Woods

August 12, 2008 pastorrobbie 2 comments

Don’t get mad…it is sort of a joke! This weekend as I watched Padraig Harrington and his awkward fist pump, I almost cried. The thing that separates Tiger Woods from the rest of the world (forget the majors for a moment) is that Tiger Woods can fist pump like nobody in the business. I believe the thing that made Michael Jordan so special (forget the mvp awards and the six championships) was the ability to celebrate well. It is the Padraig Harrington’s of the world who give the fist pump a bad name and cause millions to sit and say, Please God…Heal Tiger Woods. So to all of you…the guy with no rhythm, the guys who pumps his fist like a weirdo, the guy with a comb over…please, for the sake of global warming… STOP IT! …and remember, only you can prevent stupid fist pumps…!

Blog From My iPhone

August 8, 2008 pastorrobbie 1 comment

This is my first post from my iPhone. Today in prayer God was really dealing with my heart about worry. Life is too short to live it mad and sad. Stop sweating over stuff you can’t change and people you can’t change. Today, forget about the issues that drive you crazy, take a deep breath, and thank God for something you have that you don’t deserve and didn’t earn. Broke, rich, sick or healthy, He has already been too good! Love ya – Robbie

Faith Is An Action

August 5, 2008 pastorrobbie 1 comment

Hebrews 11:1-3 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

James 2:14-17 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Faith is not just a statement it is an action…

By FAITH Abel offered a sacrifice

By FAITH Enoch pleased God

By FAITH Noah built an ark

By FAITH Abraham obeyed

By FAITH Sarah conceived

By FAITH Jacob blessed

By FAITH Moses was hidden by his parents

By FAITH Moses refused to be called the son of Pharoah’s daughter

So many people become confused and discouraged by a lack of results. We have access to everything so fast. We aren’t willing to wait for anything. Faith for us has become a wand that we wave at the drama in our life. In Genesis 12 God makes a promise to Abraham; Genesis 15 the promise still has not been fulfilled and Abraham has become like us. God you said you were going to do something great, but I don’t even have a kid yet? 75 when the promise was made; Abraham was 100 before he had the son that was promised. Faith must become an action or a lack of results will frustrate us until we give up. Don’t give up, believe God no matter what happens!
