    A Rebellion Against Low Expectations

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! The “Myth of Adolescence” is keeping and entire generation in chains that can’t even hold them. Our culture says that there is a time in our life when we are confused, ignorant, unable to handle responsibility. This time is called the teen years. I am convinced that low expectations are keeping teenagers in a place of apathy and immaturity that are not Biblical. It is time for young people all over this nation to rebel against a culture that says you are more concerned about the latest game on the xbox than you are about the fatherless and broken in your city! We are not a deceived generation, we are not only hearers, but we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus with a passion for the lost. I am thankful that I am a part of a church that doesn’t see youth ministry as babysitting or the next church, but our church sees us a men and women called by God with a voice, no matter our age!

1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

    The Day Mercy Won

Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

He was Pierced for our transgressions… Crushed for our iniquities… His punishment brought us peace… His wounds healed us. Don’t ever forget that Mercy Won. When you and I should have been pierced for our transgressions. When we should have been crushed for our iniquities… Mercy triumphed over Judgment. The problem with American’s is not that we need to love ourselves more. No, we need to Glory in the Cross more. You can’t save yourself…you can’t comfort yourself when everything around you is falling apart. That is why the Love of God is the hope of the world!

    Youth Camp 2008

Well it is July, so that can only mean one thing…THE BRITISH OPEN!!! Even though Tiger is injured and Kenny Perry is staying home to play, I am still very excited about The Open. My pick this week is Adam Scott. He has been playing well and I like his attitude. But, more important than The Open, July means Youth Camp. It means 10 hours of driving a van full of young people and passing out when we finally get there. It means Pastor Mark and Pastor Richard preaching with power. It means Pastor Matt working so hard he needs to take a month off after camp is over. It means Pastors Carl and Peggy Varner, two of my heroes. It means…never going to be the same! See you there…

    Home And Thankful

Just got home last night from a great week with my family in Orlando, Florida. We took the kids to Orlando about 4 years ago, we had a great time, but this time was very special because they are older and can remember more. Chloe is 8, Judah is 6, and Aaliyah is 4. They really enjoyed Disney, but I think they loved Sea World. I loved Sea World too. I got pretty close to tears during the dolphin show.

Don’t Ever Say This To Someone

Lucy said to Charlie Brown “You, Charlie Brown, are a foul ball in the line drive of life! You’re in the shadow of your own goal posts! You are a miscue! You are three putts on the eighteenth green! You are a seven-ten split in the tenth frame…You are a missed free throw, a shanked nine iron and a called third strike! Do you understand? Have I made myself clear?”

People need to know what they can be. It doesn’t take a smart person to tell me what I am bad at. It takes a genius to see what I am great at and give me an opportunity. When I was in school I walked out of a room because I was afraid to speak in front of people. It took a genius named Chris Fortener to notice a gift that I was afraid to use. Is it possible that God put you on earth to help someone else succeed? I know I have a voice because other people told me to speak. Now you might not need to be told to speak, but I did. Give someone what they are having are hard to getting themselves…Courage to do what they were born to do!

I resonate these sentiments. This week has been all about God revealing himself to me in the very fact that we have two options in our lives. We can embrace the words that Christ speaks over our lives, or we may accept everything else that people say. It is imperative that as we hear the voices of many waters that we will be able to acknowledge the words from water of life. Realizing that anything not from God or not in alignment with the Truth is a lie. God does not lie to us, he always speaks truth. The enemy will always come to distort the truth in our lives and uses words as our greatest sabotage. I love to recall that in Genesis when the first people bought a lie, God didn’t ask them about their disobedience, he first wanted to know, “Who told you that you were naked?” God is always about the revelation of truth and as a result the truth will release freedom in our lives and be freed from the consequences of the lies that we have allowed to consummate our lives and situations. If we know the Truth, the Truth will set us free. Thanks for your post.

Amen! What we need are more encouragers. The Lord has shown me that it is actually a gift from God to be an encourager. Giving people “courage to do what they were born to do” is being an encourager. I encourage all to look for opportunities to give someone a compliment!!

I can’t wait to play golf today

I am in Orlando, Florida. We are having a great time in Disney’s World… :) It is about 7 in the morning and everyone is out! We had a long day yesterday…The only reason I am up is because Aaliyah barfed in her bed and wanted to sleep with mommy. So, I got the boot… :) I just read something this morning that I want to share with you…

In 1 Samuel 15:24 Saul looks at Samuel and says “I have sinned because I have feared the people and obeyed their voice.” I have seen so many people follow this same pattern. My prayer for you today is that you ignore the voice of wicked men and follow the voice of the LORD! Samuel made the right choice. Saul asks “Will you return with me to worship the LORD?” Samuel says “No, for you have rejected the Word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being King.”

    Get Out Of Town!

Saturday, we are going to Disney World. I can’t wait to get out of town! The last time we went to Orlando, each one of our kids were three years younger. It was crazy! Only one of them could really handle walking that much and it was a billion degrees. This time I believe they will have more fun and maybe remember more. I love my family! I still can’t believe God gave me Monica, much less 3 amazing kids. Pray for my golf game…I am going to play a couple pretty awesome courses and I want to play well (you are going down sonny money). God Bless all of you. I will post a picture or two and update you on the trip… :)

Everyone stretch your nine irons toward bro robbie,

“Dear Lord, help Robbie’s terrible golf game! Lord we ask you to heal his swing and mend all of his cuts and slices. We rebuke the bunkers and traps of the enemy, and cast down any unatural barriers. And lord we pray in advance that he would not lose his salvation on the 7th tee. amen”

(Just kidding bro rob, your the man!)
